Prayer helps us to be reconciled to God. Prayer is simply communication with God. It takes a prayerful man to hear God.

With prayer, you can bring down the counsel of God on Earth. Jesus  Christ was very  active and effective in prayer no wonder the results.  Jesus Christ prayed throughout His ministry on Earth.  When we are about to appoint leaders in Church, do we pray? When we are about to attend job interviews, do we pray.

Prayer helps the purpose of God to be fulfilled on Earth. Only men of prayer have changed the course of history in our midst.  Every Mighty move of the Spirit has its source in the prayer chamber.

Luke 18: “ 1  And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2  Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man 3  And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.  4  And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5  Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6  And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7  And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Heb 11:6 KJV ” But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Faith is equated to prayer.  Seeking connotes prayer. Many good things are still in the hands of the devil though legally Jesus Christ paid the price for salvaction. Potentially, Jesus Christ has paid the whole price for salvation but people are still going to hell for rejecting Him not because of their sins.

WHY PRAY

1) To have fellowship with God

2) To confess our sins (2Ch 7:14)

3) Pray to see God’s power in action (Psalms 63:1-2)

If you don’t pray, you are no  match to the devil.  The power of God destroys the desire for sin. The Church is in a backslidden state in Zambia because of prayerlessness.  If you are prayerless,you cannot hear God. We  no longer practice the covenant of giving because we are prayer less. How will you prosper if you don’t hear God. Pastors have become like lecturers because of lack of prayer.

4) To avoid falling into temptations.

The power to say no to sin is in prayer.

5) To Access divine help(Heb 4:16)

6) To provoke divine vengeance  (Psalm 94:1, Judges 16:28).

Effective Prayer breaks the cages of the devil over the people.  If you are prayerless,you will never build the House of God.

7) To break down demonic resistance

8) To receive divine direction (Ezra 8:21)

 Where God is leading you, He will provide and protect you.

9) To release the supernatural in action(Act 4:29-31)

If we don’t pray, nothing will change.

 Prayer is a Spirit. (Zec 12:10)

FATHER, BAPTIZE ME AFRESH WITH THE SPIRIT OF PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION.
