The Spirit of Excellence
Genesis 1:1, John 5:6
Daniel 6:1 – 4, Daniel 5:11
Excellence is a unified spirit.
Excellence is possessing qualities in high degree, an outstanding feature.
The excellence being referred to here is not perfectionism. 
To excel is to be exceptionally good, the best.
In order to rule, stand out and excel you need to have the spirit of Excellence.
It is an excellent spirit that causes people in the kingdom to excel.


What is in an excellent spirit?


2 Peter 1:2-6
God is excellent in all that He does and we too can be participators in this excellence through the exceeding great and precious promises.
The world’s system is corrupt and we escape that corruption by being partakers of the promises. v
Corrupt: to change/alter from the original or correct form or version. 
1.Faith
   Faith is the equivalent of the heart in the human body.
   Hebrews 11:6
   You first have to believe that you can be the thing that you want to be in life, speak what you believe, and act in accordance with what you believe. 
2.Virtue
   This is a quality of doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong (moral excellence, integrity). 
   If you don’t have this quality you can be derailed from your vision. 
   Daniel 1:8, Hebrews 1:9
   This doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes, but as a result of having virtue you will realise your wrong and depart from the path of wrong. 
   Failure and success are choices that people make. 
   1 Chronicles 28:9, 29:18
   You should have it in your mind to serve God, give God a place in your mind. 
   Even fruitfulness can not be yours until you accept certain things in your mind. 
   Proverbs 10:4
3.Knowledge
   Knowledge is the result of perception, learning and reasoning. 
   You must acquire relevant knowledge in your field. 
   Genesis 41:33
   Even as a CEO in your company, you need to have some basic knowledge of the various fields within your own company. 
   Proverbs 17:27
   Knowledge must also be processed into understanding. 
4.Self control
   This is the trait of avoiding excesses, the ability to rule yourself. 
   For instance, to stop watching television and go to study. 
5.Patience
   It is controlled delay, endurance, perseverance and it is not waiting while you’re panicking. 
   Hebrews 6:12
6.Godliness
   Godliness has great gain. 
7.Love
   Love towards people and love towards God. 
   Love for God helps to keep you in the right path, and love for people will help you stay pure in your motives. 
8.Diligence
   This is determination to perform a task
   ALL THE 7 ABOVE NEED TO BE DRIVEN BY DILIGENCE. 
   Numbers 13:30, 14:24

It is not pride to tell God to make you the best, it is faith. 
When you have an excellent spirit you will refuse mediocrity, you will go for details and not for shallow things. 
Having an excellent spirit will make your journey lonely because not many will think like you, others will call you crazy for aiming for high standards and not mediocrity. 
People with this kind of spirit have very few friends because not many people think like them. 
They spend time on profitable things and they’re unbreakable. 
An excellent spirit will put you at the top no matter where you are ;as was the case for Daniel and Joseph. 
This spirit will make you more excited about the future than about the past.

When the spirit leaves the body, the body becomes a mere thing. 
The Holy Spirit is not a subject. 
The Holy Spirit is a specialist in fixing things. 
There is no human alive or dead that has even exhausted 20% of what the Spirit can do in a person. 
It pains God to see us not maximize the full potential of the spirit of God. 
Because of carnality many christians have not been able to appreciate the ministry of the Spirit; and this is made worse by the fact that they cannot see Him with their physical eyes. 
For so long we have limited the Holy Spirit. 
Imagination inspired and powered by the Holy Spirit will take you to worlds beyond where you could have ever taken yourself. 
The Holy Spirit is a catalyst. He can push you into dimensions you could face never gotten to without His help; but you need to cooperate. 
Ephesians 1:3, Amos 9:13
You need Him to discern times and seasons, and to know what to do in each season. 
Luke 24:49, Isaiah 49:8
Your own day of visitation may appear as a very bad day. 
Ezekiel 11:1-4, Isaiah 59:21, 51:3,16,  Ezekiel 37:1-2
Revelation 22:17, 2 Samuel 23:2
Ensure that you take advantage of kairos moments by being spiritual.

The Effects of Light and Glory

1. Accessibility. Meaning we have access and we are accessible.

2.There is divine speed
  Divine speed is the speed of God. It is doing things at the rate of God’s speed. It sponsors recovery and restoration.
  Divine speed also facilitates overtaking. It makes you overtake those that went ahead of you easily, enabling you to settle.
  In 1 kings 18:46, by virtue of divine speed Elijah overtook Ahab who was in a chariot.
  The hand of the lord signifies power.
  1 Samuel 30:8, Joel 2:29
  By reason of divine speed you will overtake even those who took years to succeed by natural means.
  2 Kings 2:11, Ezekiel 39:20, Psalm 68:17, Isaiah 49:19, 58:8
  In addition, divine speed further facilitates quantum leaps and quantum achievements.

3.Transfiguration and transformation
  To transfigure is to change to glory, to change completely the nature and appearance of something. To change from one state to another.
  Luke 9:29
  Transfiguration changes every aspect of your life. Even your associations change.
  You can’t hide transfiguration when it happens to you, all those around you will notice it.

4.The affirmation of divine presence
  Acts 10:38, Psalm 27:1-4
  Divine presence gives you confidence  because you know you are never alone.
  When God is with you, you become invincible.

5.Divine attraction, acceptance, approval and endorsement.
  Matthew 3:16-17
  You will see what others can’t see, have what others can’t have because you have God’s approval.
  1 Samuel 3:19 – 20, Isaiah 62:2, 12
  God’s approval and endorsement will make all that you do to succeed.

6.Divine life becomes your life (John 1:4-9, Psalm 36:9).

7.Boldness and courage replace fear ( fear disappears) (Psalm 23:4).

8.It leads to the unleashing of wisdom for supernatural exploits and achievements.
  Daniel 5:11-16
  Wisdom will give you total mastery over the circumstances of life.
  The realization that you’re superior to devils instantly puts you in command.
  It is an error for a christian to be stuck when non-christians are stuck.
  Supernatural wisdom will enable you to beat all the traps of the devil.

What happens when God shows mercy? [continued]

4. When God shows mercy he delivers people  (Isaiah 60:1-5). 
5a. When God shows mercy, he gives light and glory. 

  Mercy is the reason God brings light on us.  The light will give you direction and act as a shield that protects you from the enemy.
  (Psalm 84:11, Malachi 4:2, John 1:1, 6). 
  The days of darkness are over. (Isaiah 8:20)
  God doesn’t want you to to look at what covid-19 is doing but rather to look up at the light he is bringing  on you. (Psalm   27:1) 
  When ever light shows up, darkness disappears.(John 12:46). 
  Darkness connotes activities produced by sin. Darkness connotes the absence of God and this darkness actually belongs to a kingdom.
  Darkness connotes blindness whereas light connotes opening of eyes. 
  Genesis 13:2 gives us a description of Abraham’s glory. 
  Glory is the miracle life of God manifested around human beings by reason of his power. (John 11:30). 
  1 Peter 2:9,  Hebrews 2:9, Romans 8:29, Hebrews 3:4. 
  The story of the prodigal son is that of mercy culminating into glory. The path way to glory is coming back to your senses and accepting God’s ways. 
  If you want to see Glory don’t look at social media but look up to heaven and hear what God is saying (Luke 22:19).

Mercy is an extension of God’s love to us.

I greet you all in the name of Jesus Christ. Truly the world has changed. May the Lord help us to change. The way we pray has also changed.

Isaiah 60:1- 3
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”
“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” “And the Gentiles shall come to thy light , and kings to the brightness of thy rising.”

Mercy separates and causes you to see light when others see darkness.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GOD SHOWS MERCY?

1) Captivity is turned around (Deuteronomy 30:3,Psalm 126:1-6)
The turning of captivity is purely by the Hand of God. (Job 42:10, Psalm 102:13)
After captivity is turned around, people can enter into freedom.
(Ezekiel 39:25, Jeremiah 42:12, Isaiah 54:7)

2) God remembers his Covenant (Exodus 2:24, 1 Samuel 1:19, Psalm 105:8)
God remembers the covenants made by sacrifice.

3) God takes over battles and battles are turned in your favour. (1 Chronicles 5:20, 2 Chronicles 20:3) 
Your battles are turned into God’s battles. Whatever you maybe facing in life, it will go in your favour as God takes over your battles.

Labour In The Lord

When God created man he brought him on the earth and made a body in which man should live in and breathed into the man, meaning he shared his life with man. We are not supposed to be independent beings ,we must be dependent .

Every time man chooses to do what he pleases he lands into problems with the Lord. So we must understand that the primary purpose God created us is to please him. Please him how? By having fellowship with him and by serving him. If a man has not discovered this truth he will continue to live in fear.

We didn’t bring ourselves on this earth, God brought us here and that is why we breathe free oxygen and it’s important to recognise that the one who takes care of us expects something from us ,and what he expects from us is to SERVE him ,to be in PARTNERSHIP with him.

1 Corinthians 15:58, Hebrews 6:10-12.

When most people hear of labouring in the Lord they always think it applies only to a  pastor or  bishop. No! Every child of God has been called to labour in the Lord. Our labour in the Lord is not in vain which tells us that labour in our selves can end  in vain but our labour in the Lord is not in vain because we have the back up of God. (Hebrews 6:12)

What is LABOUR?

As a noun labour is productive work ,as a verb, to labour is to strive and make an effort to reach a goal , So when we say labouring in the Lord it means we are striving to reach a goal. When we serve God with properly set goals we will be able to know that when we meet our goals we are scoring for the Lord (Phil 4:3).

WHERE DO WE LABOUR? WHAT ARE THE AREAS OF LABOUR IN THE LORD? .

1. THE WORD

 We are supposed to labour in the word. Joshua 1:8. Eccl 2:21.

If I don’t labour in the word of God it will be difficult for me to serve God properly,the word of God provides the framework for laboring in the Lord. (Dt 4:4-8. 1 Tim 5:17)

How do you labour in the word of God ? Make sure you are studying the Bible and  reading books on various subject matters.

2. TEACHING/ PREACHING TO BELIEVERS ( 1 thes 2:9. Colossians 1:29 .2 Corinthians 5:9).

3. PRAYERS (Colossians 4:12, Isaiah 66:7-8. Luke 18:7-8).

Prayer changes people and changes things. 

4. IN SOUL WINNING AND RETENTION (Luke 10:2).

We must labour in soul winning. We must also labour in soul retention, making sure that those souls we have won to the Lord stand strong. Jn 4:38. Mt 9:37-38.

5. LIVING RIGHT (2 Corinthians 5:9, Hebrews 12:3-4& 28).

We must strive against sin so that we live right and not  live carelessly. (James 1:25, 2 Timothy 2:19-21).

6. LABOURING WITH OUR HANDS (Ephesians 4:28) There’s also labour that is physical andrequires us to use our hands.

7 . IN GIVING 
Giving of your time,your resources for the advancement of the kingdom of God ( Acts 20:35). When we give to the cause of the kingdom, we are labouring.

(Romans 16:6 & 12, Luke 8:3),  If your money, time cannot be given to God you are not serving the Lord in that area.

8. KINGDOM SERVICE

9. HOLDING OUT IN FAITH.

We must labour in contending for the faith, and we must  labour in making faith work. Faith is work. Faith is labour. (1 thes 1:3 1 Timothy 4:10)

Faith in God must be laboured for. (Rev 2:2).

BENEFITS OF LABOUR.

Does labour in the Lord have benefits ? 

(Proverbs 14:23)  If in all labour there’s profit ,what more labour in the Lord? there must be much more profit. (Isaiah 65:23 , Psalm 128:2, Matthew 20:8).

1. HEALTH . Divine health or Divine healing.

Because God wants you to keep labouring he will keep you healthy. When you are sick and you call on God, He will heal you. (Proverbs 13:17).

2. DIVINE PROVISION (Luke 10:35, Job 36:11, Matthew 6:33)
Prosperity comes from obeying. 

3. HONOUR (2 Timothy 2:6).

4 . INCREASE IN GRACE (Proverbs 13:11, I Corinthians 15:10)

5 . REST AND SATISFACTION(1 Corinthians 3:9).


HOW DO I LABOUR PROFITABLY?

1. Make sure it is done in love (Hebrews 6:11. 1 Chronicles 29:3).
2 . Labour in righteousness

3. Labour consistently and tirelessly (Proverbs 28:20) .

4. LABOUR SACRIFICIALLY(Psalm 126:1-6).

Open Heavens

Open Heaven

There are so many things that takes place under open heaven.
What does open heaven mean? This is a state where there are no barriers between the earth and the heavens , Where there is no barrier between Man and God. It connotes man’s closeness to God. If we have open heaven it means we also have closed heavens. Closed heaven is when there is a barrier between heaven and Earth. It Signifies when the prince of the power of the air has Dominion and power to suppress us from being able to connect to God. (Ephesians 6:12).
When people are experiencing such it means they are under closed heaven.

Under a closed heaven it is hard to pray and obtain answers, it is hard to experience God’s presence in worship, these aren’t mysteries but realities. When we talk about open heaven it is not something that we are supposed to take for granted. .

What do we experience under open heaven?

1. Out pouring of the Spirit.

2. Blessings and provision (Malachi 3).

3. Salvation (Isaiah 45:8).

4. Prophetic revelation.

5. Angelic activity

6. Obstacles are melted.

GROWING IN GRACE BY ENGAGING OPEN HEAVEN.

Whatever Grace has been difficult for you to access, under open heaven ,you can have such. ( John 1:17, Luke 2:40).

Waxing in spirit ,is waxing in Grace. You can change levels in Grace, you can wax strong in Grace. (John 1:17) . When you are growing in Grace, you have favour. When you are growing in Grace you are also increasing in your Christian faith.
Reigning in life is a function of Grace. 1 Corinthians 5:21.

d. What you do with Grace is what your life will be like.

Grace is the maker of men.
Grace has to keep increasing upon your life. (Zechariah 4:3- 7)

It is Grace that brings down mountains.

If there’s is something you must invest in , invest in Grace (Hebrews 12:1-2).

In the race of life, you require the exceeding Grace of God. God gives men a measure of Grace. God distributes to us a measure of Grace , but that Grace needs to grow.

The God of Settlement

The God of Settlement

Mark 6:39
“Then Jesus said to them, tell everyone to sit in groups on the green grass.”
Isaiah 32:15
“This will continue until God gives us his spirit from above. Then the desert will become rich farmland and the farmland will be like thick forests.”
Isaiah 44:3 
“I will pour water for thirsty people, and streams will flow through the desert. I will pour my spirit on your children, and I will bless your family.”

Isaiah 51:1-3
“Some of you people try hard to live good lives. You go Lord for help. Listen to me. You should look at Abraham your father. He is the rock you were cut from.”
“Abraham is your father so look at him. Look at Sarah, who gave birth to you. Abraham was alone when I called him. Then I blessed him, and he began a great family with many descendants.”
“In the same way, the Lord will bless Zion. He will feel sorry for her and her people, and he will do something great for her. He will turn the desert into a garden. And it will be like a Garden of Eden. The land was empty, but it will become Lord’s Garden. People there will be very happy. They will sing victory songs to thank God for what he did. “
1Peter 5:10
“Yes, you will suffer for a short time. But after that, God will make everything right. He will make you strong. He will support you and keep you from failing. He is God who gives all grace. He chose you to share in his glory in Christ. That glory will continue forever.”

To settle is to take out of discomfort. There are steps to take for settlement.
Amos 9:13
“The Lord says, a time of great blessing is coming. Workers will still be harvesting when it’s time to plow the field s again. They will still be Trampling the grapes when it’s time for a new crop. sweet wine will drip from the mountains and pour from the hills.”

A situation that looks terrible can be changed by God. He is a rewriter of stories.
Psalms 102:13 ,Job 14:14 

The only way you can miss your time is when you don’t know that it’s your set time.The only way not to miss your appoint time is to be close to your appointed place.

When it’s time for settlement you must be careful to hear the clock of heaven.

HOW CAN I HAVE SETTLEMENT
1. You must settle in the house you belong by being Born Again.
2. Settle with the word of God (Job 22:21-22, Proverbs 8:10, Isaiah 33:6).

Outside the word of God there’s no settlement


3. The fear of the Lord (2 Timothy 2:19-20 )

Nobody that was in rebellion with the Lord ever got settled (2 Chronicles 15:1-4,15)

To fear God is to respect what he says. (Job 22:11-29)

4. Obedience
Every time God speaks to us it’s not to disadvantage us but settle us.(1 Kings 17:9, Genesis 22:17)

Don’t only serve God when things are not right. You delay your own settlement by doing your own things.

God is not moved by emotions but by your faith. Money makes eternal settlement.

When you’re going to the field you have very few friends but when harvesting the story changes.

It’s important to be sensitive. Do what the Holy Spirit is speaking to you about

Arise Shine Prayers

Psalm 90:12

” So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

Ephesians 5:15-16

” See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

WHAT IS A HABIT?

A recurrent, often unconscious pattern of behavior that is acquired through frequent repetition. An established disposition of the mind or character. Customary manner or practice. A habit can also be defined as something that you do regularly or usually, often without thinking about it because you have done it so many times before.

Nobody is born with a habit. Habits are developed. A habit is an automatic pattern of behaviour.Habits creates habitats.

Habits determine a man’s future.

Late coming to Church meetings and anywhere is a behavioural trait. If you want to succeed in life and destiny, develop habits that promote success.

If you do something consistently for more than 21 times,  it will become a system for you. It is consistency that builds up something.

In anything you are involved in, ask for grace to be consistent.

Behind any kind of resistance that is persistent, there is a demonic spirit. Don’t underestimate bad habits.

Satan is after your time,  that is why God says, “I will restore the years” (Joel 2:25).

Good habits will make you succeed because you don’t succeed until you develop winning  habits.

Your giving to God will never benefit you until it becomes a habit. Genuine givers give  all the time.
