UNDERSTANDING THE HELP MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Acts 1:8, Luke 24:49
-A witness is:
- a) someone who sees an event and reports what happens.
- b) a close observer
- c) someone who looks at something when it was happening.
-There are stages that a Christian has to go through in order to become a witness.
-You are not a witness because you are born again or the Holy Spirit has come upon you.
-When the spirit comes upon you and guides you, there are certain experiences you have as you relate with Him that will cause you to become a witness.
-There are realms, the Holy Spirit will take you to, and what you see there will make you become a witness.
-Not every believer is a witness and not every believer reaches the level of a witness.
-Christians have abused the word witness. They say things like, “we have gone to witness.”
-It is not possible to be a witness without encounters.
-Encounters are by the enablement of the Holy Spirit.
-The spirit draws men closer to God.
-We may not know how weak we are until we get closer to God.
-When we get closer to God, we discover how weak we are and how important it is for us to depend on Him.
-In the secret place, the heart of man is broken and softened.
-In the absence of this, man is a self-centered being.
-The Spirit is the one who sheds light on what you are suppose to eat in terms of spiritual food.
-What you will survive tomorrow is a function of the energy you have gathered from the spiritual food you’re eating today.
-When we get born-again, the Holy Spirit puts the hunger for God and the things of God in us, and He uses that as fuel to drive us.
-The Spirit can’t drive a man without a desire.
-When desire for change, coupled with the right actions in the direction of the change are greater than the force resisting change, change will happen.
-As you desire to change, there will be a resistance.
-Persistence is a series of actions towards your goal.
-To desire change is not enough.
-To have knowledge about what is required to change is not enough.
-To take steps in order to change is not enough.
-It is when all 3 are done and produce a force that is greater than the resisting force that change will occur.
-If what you’re doing to change your life, is equal to the resisting force, you will remain at the same spot and that is what is called stagnation.
-You can have an advocate and a counselor who you have never consulted.
-Most times, we don’t consult the counselor on what to do and that is why all our decisions end up as a disaster.
-The Holy Spirit will teach you what a man can’t teach you.
-The Holy Spirit will remind you about a right thing that you should remember at the right time.
-Something is not good or bad based on how it feels, look at its ability to draw you closer or away from God.
-Anything you do that doesn’t bring you closer to God is a red flag.
-When God convicts you of sin, it is not to take you away from Him but to bring you closer to Him whereas Satan would do that to take you away from God.
-The Holy spirit is a spiritual downloader who downloads heavenly files to manifest on the earth through those people that have fully engaged Him.
-The Holy Spirit is a universal downloader; He downloads any heavenly file that can benefit you.
-The Holy Spirit does not download by Himself, you have to engage Him to download.
WHAT HELPS DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT BRING IN A MAN’S LIFE?
1) HE COUNSELS (John 16:7, Isaiah 11:2)
-The Holy Spirit is a universal counselor; He will give you counsel in any area.
-Before you do something, ask The Holy Spirit for counsel.
-In case you didn’t ask for counsel before getting started, you can still ask.
2) HE IMPARTS WISDOM (Isaiah 11:2, Daniel 2:21)
-There is no wisdom a man can have (diabolical or otherwise) without contact with the spirit either good or bad
-A witch doctor is wise (called a wise one) because of his interactions with demon spirits.
-A man of God is wise because of his interaction with the Spirit of God.
Daniel 5:11-12, James 3:17
-You cannot interact with God and not have wisdom.
-Wisdom is full of mercy & good fruits.
3) THE HOLY SPIRIT CONVINCES & CONVICTS
2 Thessalonians 2:6-7, John 16:7-11
-The Holy Spirit is the one restraining Satan from doing his agenda in our time.
-The Holy Spirit acts like the traffic lights in our lives.
4) THE HOLY SPIRIT PRODUCES HIS FRUIT IN US.
Galatians 5:22-23
-There is no law that can override a man that is manifesting the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 6:16, 2 Corinthians 14:14
-The partnership with Holy Spirit results into fruit
-The Holy Spirit helps us to have self-control.
-The Holy Spirit brings balance to charisma.
