• Behind sin are spiritual forces.
• Before the coming of Jesus, one of the things we will see commonly is backsliding ; falling away.
• The devil’s assignment is to oppose anything that has to do with God.
• The moment you decided to be a christian, he became your opposition.
• It is sin that stains your spiritual garment.
• When you are stained, you become unacceptable before God.
Gal 5:19-21
• The inheritance of the kingdom of God is administered by a spirit, that spirit is a Holy Spirit.
• If you are going to be a partaker of the inheritance that was left, it has to be in accordance with the will.
1. SIN IS DEMONIC (Rom 8:15)
• Sin is not psychological but demonic.
• Behind sin is a spirit and behind right living is a spirit, it depends on which spirit you have chosen to become a slave to.
2. SIN IS ADDICTIVE (Rom 8:15)
• Addiction will lead to bondage.
3. SIN IS PLEASURABLE, BUT ONLY FOR A MOMENT (Heb 11:23-25)
• Sin is pleasurable, but only for a season, later on it bites.
• If sin was not enjoyable , if it was bitter from the beginning, people would not be doing it.
4. SIN IS BLINDING (1 Sam 12:3)
• Sin has a blinding effect on the person that is in it.
5. SIN IS DECEPTIVE (1 John 3:7)
6. SIN IS FORCEFUL (Prov 7:21)
• Sin has the ability to push a person to do something.
• Sin pulls people towards it.
• You cannot overcome sin with human strength.
• Behind the pull of sin is a spirit and it takes the Spirit of God to dislodge it.

8. SIN IS CONTAGIOUS (Ps 1:1-3, 1 Cor 15:33)
• Association with someone who sins will cause you to begin to sin.
• One way to avoid sin is to avoid company that facilitates sin.
• Behind negative peer pressure is a spirit.
9. SIN IS ENTICING (James 1:13-14, Gen 3:6)
• Sin looks attractive and it pulls you towards you.
10. SIN IS DESTRUCTIVE (John 10:10)
Where does the strength of satan lie?
a. Deception (Rev 12:9)
• Deception is one of the hardest things to detect.
• Only the Holy Spirit who has full knowledge can help you to overcome deception.
b. Defilement
How does satan defile?
1. Through unclean spirits (Zec 3:3-5)
• Their job is to stain: to make dirty that which was clean.
2. Spirit of bondage (addiction) (Rom 8:15)
• When a person is addicted, he has entered into bondage.
• Once you are bound, you are in prison and can no longer free yourself. It will take the power of God to free you.
3. The spirit of disobedience (Eph 2:1-2)
• If there is a spirit of obedience, there must be an opposite spirit.
• You have to obey God in order to punish disobedience.
4. Lying spirit (1 Kings 22:22-23)
5. Spirit of whoredom (sexual immorality) (Hos 5:1-4)
6. Spirit of pride (Isa 14:12-16)
7. The spirit of rebellion (Num 16:1-14, 30-31)
8. The spirit of the world (2 Tim 4:14)
9. The spirit of idolatry (Exo 32:31)
• Money can be a powerful god.
• Nowadays, smartphones have become gods.
• You can be an idol to yourself by worshipping yourself.
