Luke 10:25-37
• We are supposed to safeguard the souls that God brings into this church, ensuring that they become established in the faith as we have.
• Winning souls starts with the people that God brings into our church.
• We shouldn’t say and do things that will discourage new souls from being established in this church.
• If you tell a new convert negative things about the church you belong to, will that encourage them to be established in the church?
James 1:26-27
• Be a bearer of good news.
• It is not everything you see and hear that you should broadcast.
• Know what to speak.
• Church is like a hospital.
• When you see others fall, reach out to them and help them. Don’t make them fall deeper.
• It is impossible to win souls without the love of God.
• Be intentionally concerned about the wellbeing of others.
Mat 14:14
• If we safeguard the souls we’ve been given, He will give us more.
• If you fail to do what God ordained you to do, He will raise someone else to do what you were supposed to do.
1 Cor 13:1-8, 13, Isa 60:1-3
• We need to grow to the point where we become examples of the kind of christianity God desires.
• You can’t have impact over a diabolical man if you are a baby christian.
• You need to grow in the word of God if you are to be a successful soul-winner.
• Soul winning is translating people from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light.
• If you are struggling to live in the light, how can you bring people into the kingdom of light.
• Spiritual growth happens only by knowledge.
• You can’t bear fruit in the kingdom of God if you are immature.
Gal 5:22-23
• There are four groups of people in this world:
1. Natural men (1 Cor 2:13)
• These reason according to their senses.
2. Carnal men (1 Cor 3:1-3, Rom 8:5-9)
• Carnal men have not undergone the process of transformation.
• They have not allowed the word of God to change them.
• We listen to the word of God so that it transforms us.
• If you don’t allow the word of God to transform you, you will be carnal.
3. A believer unto salvation (Rom 10:9-13)
• It is possible to believe God just for a miracle and not believe God for salvation.
• Those who believe God only miracles can leave God after they have received the miracles they were looking for.
• When someone believes God unto salvation, they receive:
a. Forgiveness of all their past sins
b. The gift of righteousness
c. Eternal life
How do we keep the souls that God gives us?
i. They should be subjected to the intense ministry of the word of God (Rom 12:1-2)
• This is the only way that they will be renewed and transformed.
• Without this, they will never grow and it will be easy to backslide.
• At salvation, what gets saved is the spirit and not the soul and body.
• If they are not subjected to the word of God, their soul and body will overpower them because those are still running on their default settings.
ii. They should be introduced to the ministry of the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:1-6)
iii. Introduce them to the ministry of a vibrant church with a sound, teaching priest (Acts 19:1-6)
• It’s not just about going to church but having a relationship with God.
• If you win a soul, make sure they are established in a church that can give the full counsel of God.
4. A spiritual man (2 Pet 3:17-18, 1 Pet 1:1-9, 2 Pet 1:5-9)
• This is somebody that has developed their walk with the Holy Spirit and has grown in grace and knowledge.
• If you feel like you don’t know what to say to invite someone to church, simply tell them to “come and see.” (John 1:39, 4:28-29)
• Pray as you go out to win souls so that your words are empowered , don’t go out in the arm of the flesh.
