WHAT DOES THANKSGIVING DO?
1 Sam 17:34
• The same way we write prayer points is the same way we should be writing thanksgiving points.
• It is important to remember the things God has done for us so that we cause him to do more.
• Many times, when we face challenges, we come to a point of breaking down because we forget the things God has done for us in the past.
• Thanksgiving is a stabilising force.
• It can make you to be stable in the things you are facing because you know He has come through for you in the past.
James 1:12
• The ability to withstand temptation is only possible if a man is thankful.
• Thanksgiving procures the peace of God for our lives.
• There is a reason why you are thanking and there is somebody you are thanking.
• Thanksgiving gives us assurance in the ability of God.
• Thanksgiving will keep our hearts and minds protected from the assaults of the devil in the things we are facing.
• Thanksgiving must be deliberate, you must choose to do so.
• God expects us to be thankful, not only for the things He has done for us but also for the things He has created (Rom 1:21).
• Thanksgiving must be something of the mind, it must be in your imagination to give thanks to God (Rom 1:21)
• If you have experienced any good at all in your life, then you are a candidate for thanksgiving because that good came from God.
WHAT DOES THANKSGIVING DO?
1. PROTECTS YOUR MIND AND MAKES YOU STAND SECURE IN YOUR FAITH
(Col 2:7, 3:15-17, 4:2, Eph 5:4)
• It is the stabiliser of destiny.
• It is the stabiliser of your stand in good things.
• Thanksgiving isolates your heart and mind from the assaults of the devil as you are standing.
• There is no way the peace of God will rule in your heart until you are thankful.
• A person who is grateful is watching.
• A person that is not thankful doesn’t have a prayer life.
• Thanksgiving makes people to stay long on the prayer altar because it garrisons their minds.
• The strength of future victories depends on our gratitude.
2. CREATES AND MAINTAINS HEAVEN’S ATMOSPHERE IN A HOME, CHURCH, A NATION AND AN INDIVIDUAL’S LIFE
(2 Chron 5:10-13, 1 Chron 25:3)
• Every time thanksgiving is genuinely demonstrated to God, it conditions that environment with heaven’s atmosphere.
• Praise creates an atmosphere of heaven, which is ripe for the prophetic.
3. UNLOCKS MIRACLES OF MULTIPLICATION (Mark 8:6-9, Jer 30:19)
• Whenever there is thanksgiving, there will be multiplication. This is a formula in the spirit.
• Things are reducing in our homes because we like complaining, we have joined the bandwagon of people that are complaining.
• No matter how much you complain about the prices of commodities, the prices don’t reduce.
• Maybe complaining makes you feel better but it doesn’t make your destiny better.
• Why not deploy your energy into thanking God?
• When you complain you drain yourself of any hope.
• You are a child of God, the government is not your provider.
• Give thanks to God for where you are and what you have.
• You will have no future if you complain.
• Your duty is to thank God for what He does for you
